I was getting tired of the word twitter long before the CNN's and Kutchers' played it out. Can't some things, even beautiful, technologically advanced things go too far?
dailymail -They're two of the most famous Twitter users and have over a million followers each.
But Demi Moore and her husband Ashton Kutcher are threatening to quit the micro-blogging site amidst reports their 'tweeting' could end up on a new TV show.
Reveille and Brillstein Entertainment, the production company behind The Sopranos, are developing a show which sees 'ordinary people put on the trail of celebrities in a competitive format'.
The show means fans may try to track down their favourite star if they put their location on their Twitter page. After producer Jon Liebman announced on Monday of the 'compelling way to bring the immediacy of Twitter to life on TV', a concerned Demi and Ashton took to their pages. 'Twitter is not making a TV show': Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has distanced himself from the project Demi, 46, wrote: 'I hope this isn't true - if it is our Twitter time may come to a quick and sad end...' I hope it is not true... this would not be a smart move for Twitter.'
She later wrote: 'I did not express it's death (for Twitter) I just stated that it would be the end of the line for me if they choose to exploit people. 'The difference is I am sharing of myself vs someone else exploiting me. That is the incredible gift that Twitter has created.'
Ashton, 31, added on his page: 'Wow I hope this isn't true. I really don't like being sold out. May have to take a Twitter hiatus. 'Um how about... I don't want to be stalked... It's all fun and games until somebody gets stalked.'
In response, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone wrote on the site: 'Just to be clear, Twitter is not making a television show. 'Some Hollywood folks are developing something that leverages Twitter and they are extremely enthusiastic as evidenced by all the media hubbub yesterday and today. We have little to do with their efforts but we wish them success.
'Like the thousands of applications being built around Twitter, there is a growing interest from the entertainment and news industry. We see these projects and others as yet another way the ecosystem is enriched for everyone who uses Twitter.'
Ashton and Demi have become two of Twitter most popular users in recent months, having posted pictures of the actress in a bikini on holiday and on location in France for Ashton's recent movie.
