Source: LAist - When the surf's was up in California this summer, it was pretty safe to go in the water. The annual End of Summer Beach Report Card issued by Heal the Bay shows that 92 per cent of the state's beaches have "good-to-excellent water quality," reports MyFoxLA.
Over 450 beaches were part of the report, all of which "were graded based on bacterial pollution levels from Memorial Day through Labor Day."
A potential future problem: The ability to perform those tests. Heal the Bay reports that "state funding for routine water quality testing along California beaches may be eliminated next January due to the statewide budget crisis.
