This picture was taken by one of our personal wedding photographers... Sunday December 12 on the day of the Virgin of Guadalupe, in the chapel of the Virgin of Guadalupe (Quintana Roo, Mexico) which is built stepping down into a sacred cenote, or underwater cave. The alter is made of stone with water surrounding it.
I tell you that even this magical image cannot wholly represent the miraculous energy that was swirling around in this sacred cave of water and stone....

Forrest is gearing up for his Eco/Archaeological/Adventure Bachelor Trip here at the Mayan Riviera, Quintana Roo Mexico with 5 of his soul brothers. Men's Health Magazine will be covering the action and so will we...
This raw video clip was shot at Chichen Itza just hours after a Mayan blessing which took place at the Lol-Tun cave. Read the story below...
At the end of July, Forrest and Patty visited the Mexican States of Yucatan and Quintana Roo looking for the perfect location to celebrate their wedding...
They were fortunate to have a guide to take them around the city of Merida and the many beautiful Haciendas surrounding the city. The next day, they were scheduled to fly into Cancun to visit locations around Playa Del Carmen, however, their guide offered to drive them instead in order to take them to visit a sacred Mayan cave known as Lol-Tun, quite a ways off the path...
Of course they took him up on his offer. They arrived at the cave and were introduced to the Shaman who was to lead them deep into the Earth. Upon entering the cave, Patty quietly whispered to Forrest, "Wow, now I would love to get married at a place like this..."
The three of them walked together deep into the underground sanctuary, undergoing various purification rituals led by the shaman, surrounded by sacred water and natural hanging crystals. About two and a half hours into the trip, the shaman mentioned that they were granted permission by Mother Earth to visit a sacred alter, a natural stone shaped like a turtle...
He mentioned to them that this was a special place in the cave that most tours are not normally permitted access to. He told them about how the Mayans believed that the turtle carried the planet on her back. Forrest was instructed to put his hand above the stone alter. A short while after, the Shaman asked Forrest what he was feeling. Forrest mentioned that his face was becoming hot. The Mayan smiled and said that he was receiving a "new light" in his eyes for his next career. Forrest was stunned as it was just one day after he announced his commitment to running for Mayor of LA. Next, the couple was instructed to place their hands, one atop another, a few inches above the stone alter. A few minutes passed by while they noticed the shaman digging for something in the earth next to them...
The Shaman came back with a rose quartz crystal and placed it in Patty's hand. He closed Forrest's hand on top of hers, and proceeded to speak softly with a joyful reverence...
He said, "I have been instructed by Mother Earth to bless your union by marrying you right here in the Earth."
The couple looked at one another with tears rolling down their cheeks, perhaps in shock by the Blessed Mother's surprise celebration. The shaman blessed them in the Mayan tongue and directed them to embrace one another.
He said, "you can get married one day wherever you want, but as of now, you are already married."
